Go Chelsea Go!

Hey guys, its coming to the end of the day and I would like to share what I did today to move towards the Bringing Milfey Back goal! Well, My husband Kris had to leave for work today at 6:00am, meaning if I wanted to hit the gym I would have had to wake up at 4:00am and considering I went to bed after midnight, waking up that early was NOT in the cards. Instead, my friend Chelsea met me at my house at 12:30 and we were going for our BIG brisk walk today, usually going around 8 miles. Well she showed up at 12:30pm but we didn’t get out of my home until around 2:00pm….. The reason being….. I … AM… A… MOM….!!! The tasks NEVER end, after one gets fed, the other one poops, then after cleaning all that up, the other one needs to be fed, and the previous one poops… then your husband calls asking to do a few little tasks like take a pic of our insurance card and email it to him, while the dog scratches you on the leg asking to go potty too… After you take care of all of that, it starts all over again, it just never ends…. To make a long story short, we left my house an hour and a half after she arrived and we were off and WALKING!

We walked almost 8 miles with a few pit stops, once at starbucks to get our Trenta unsweetened iced green teas ( and a cake pop for Lillianna), a few times to find a pacifier, and once at Chelsea’s parents house to get her fitbit. We still managed to briskly walk, kids in the double BOB ( me pushing) our 8 miles. We stopped at one of our local favorite restaurants, Noah’s, to have salad and steak skewers along with 2 sugar free freshly squeezed lemon drops (my own creations) and the lemon drops made the walk home far more entertaining and fun, but I am not recommending it, just letting you know in brutal honesty what I did.

As we walked we decided to jog every other block or so, and this wildly entertained my 2 year old Lillianna immensely! She squealed with laughter with each block we jogged and screamed at the top of her lungs “GO CHELSEA GOOOOO, Go Chelsea Go Go Go” trying to get her to keep running, it was hilarious and very very cute! Well we really began to get tired after a few miles, but Lillianna wouldn’t let up. Every time we stopped to walk briskly she would shout it out again at the top of her squeaky little 2 year old lungs, “GO CHELSEA GO, GO GO GO” we had no choice but to run, laugh our A$$e’s off, and run!

By the time we were 4 blocks away from my house we were exhausted and still laughing at my little queen shouting us encouraging orders, Chelsea took over pushing the BOB stroller with Madelynn (sleeping) and Lillianna shouting and it was my turn. “GO MOMMA GO, GO MOMMA GO GO GO” she squealed and shouted, and as tired as I was I did, I went…. I went went went, and I ran all the way home, throwing my hands in the air once reaching my house and doing the Rocky dance on my walkway, still out of breath and laughing. I guess my little 2 year old daughter was my motivation to go the extra mile today, to press myself just a little more outside of my exercising comfort zone on the journey to Bringing Milfey Back, and I am thankful.

My question for you tonight is, what motivates you? What do you think about when you want to test and press your own personal limits? I have quite a few things that motivate me that I dig up out of my mind, throw to the surface, and use as fuel while pressing forward but tonight was an exceptionally cute and hilarious experience that I will archive in my mind and bring up when I think about quitting!

Again, I may not have done a strenuous workout at the gym today, I may not have trained for an Iron Man/Woman, I may not have done a lot of things, but I did SOMETHING, I did what I could do and that counts just as much. Remember one day, one  hour, and one minute at a time is what’s important on a daily basis, and EVERYTHING counts!

So to finalize my workout day, I walked 8.76 miles, and laughed harder than I had in a long time. We will see what tomorrow brings, but today I moved, and I hope you did too! I will be posting about the supplements and vitamins  I take on next Sunday’s blog and picture progress day. I hope you all do something to motivate yourself and move tomorrow!

Health and Love

  1. Hey Lisa. Woke up early and saw your new blog. So off to the elliptical for 30 minutes at 5am. My former trainer never got me to the gym at this hour. Thanks for the motivation! Love you guys, hope to see you all soon. StevieG.

    1. Thank you Steve, and I will be sure to show your former trainer this message! LOL! Proud of you that you got up and got moving, WAY TO GO! Look forward to getting together sometime soon, but if we go to the Los Altos Grill I will have to pass on the chocolate shots and Sunday! 😉

  2. I’m impressed with the 8+ mile walk but I must admit, I’m even more impressed that your toddler sat through an 8 mile walk! Mine don’t sit through a 3 mile run without complaining!! Well done on all accounts!

    1. Yes, I am lucky they hang out for that long and don’t really give her a choice so thank God she loves it!Thank you for the comment Shawna and I am so happy you are following along!
